BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi & MINI touchscreen upgrades. Professional installation in Preston.

Bring your dashboard up to date with an Apple CarPlay and Android Auto touchscreen upgrade from Base Systems. We supply and fit PBA Media and similar vehicle-specific screen systems, with a focus on BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi and MINI, plus options for selected other makes.

Whether you want easier navigation, access to your favourite music or a larger display, we will help you choose a system suited to your car and the way you use it.

Send dashboard photos for a fitted quote

The most helpful photo is your original factory (OE) screen switched on and showing its main menu. Send us the pictures below with your make, model and year, and we can check the system fitted to your car and quote for a suitable upgrade.

  1. A clear close-up of the original screen: show the original BMW, Mercedes, Audi or MINI factory home menu, rather than a CarPlay screen or just a black display.
  2. A wider dashboard photo: include the screen, radio buttons and surrounding trim so we can see the layout.
  3. The centre-console controller: show the rotary dial, touchpad and surrounding buttons, where fitted.
  4. A version screen, if easy to find: a photo of the navigation map or system information page can help us distinguish similar systems.

Take the photos while parked, keep the phone steady and avoid reflections so the menu text is readable. Tell us whether you use an iPhone or Android phone and whether you have a factory reversing camera or premium audio system. Mention any previous screen or infotainment changes.

Not sure whether you have NBT, EVO or a particular NTG version? That is fine—send the photos and we will help identify it.

Send your dashboard photos on WhatsApp or email sales@basesystems.com. Please attach your photos to your message.

Need help identifying your factory system? Use our quick guides below. If you are unsure, send your photos and we will help.

BMW, Mercedes, Audi and MINI touchscreen upgrades

The right upgrade starts with identifying your existing equipment. Factory infotainment systems vary between BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi and MINI models and production years, so a screen that fits one car may not suit another.

Send us your make, model and year, together with a clear photograph of your dashboard screen switched on and its controls. We will check the available options before recommending a kit. If you drive another make, get in touch and we can check whether a suitable system is available.

Built for your model, backed by Base Systems

These are not the generic budget Android units advertised across online marketplaces. We have our systems built specifically for each supported vehicle model, then match the specification to your car’s original infotainment equipment.

A screen that looks similar online is not enough to confirm it is right for your car. We check your factory system before quoting and explain how the chosen upgrade will work with your original menus, controls, audio and any cameras.

Your quote brings together the model-specific system, the required fitting equipment and professional installation, with a local team to speak to for advice and support. Send us photos of your original screen switched on so we can recommend the right setup for your BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi or MINI.

Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and everyday convenience

  • Phone integration: use compatible navigation, music, calling and messaging apps through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
  • Touchscreen options: choose from vehicle-specific displays, with size and specification confirmed for your installation.
  • Wireless connectivity: available on suitable systems with a compatible phone.
  • Original menu access: compatible kits can retain access to factory menus and selected original controls.
  • Camera options: ask about retaining an existing reversing camera or adding a compatible camera.

Features depend on the vehicle, factory equipment and selected kit. We will confirm connectivity, audio integration, camera support and the original functions that can be retained as part of your quote.

PBA Media screens and OE Mercedes menu retention

PBA Media is one of the screen upgrade options we can install. On supported Mercedes installations, the upgrade combines a new touchscreen with access to the original Mercedes menu. This lets you enjoy modern phone integration while keeping familiar vehicle functions accessible.

Our Mercedes installation photographs show examples of the original audio menu, radio, reversing camera display and Apple CarPlay. They illustrate one installation; screen layout and retained functions will vary with your car and chosen system.

Which factory infotainment system do I have?

Choose your make for our quick identification tips: BMW iDrive · Mercedes Audio 20 / COMAND / NTG · Audi MMI · MINI.

These checks can help us narrow down the options. Model year and screen appearance alone do not confirm compatibility, especially if equipment has been changed.

BMW: CIC, NBT or NBT EVO?

Start with a photo of the iDrive main menu and controller. Some NBT and early NBT EVO systems look very similar, so a navigation version photo is especially useful.

On many navigation-equipped BMWs, try Navigation → Options → Settings → Position & version history → Check version. Wording varies between systems. If you see a version beginning NBT_, it is a clue to NBT; NBTevo_ points to NBT EVO. Photograph the full version page rather than just copying one word.

Tile-style menus can help distinguish later EVO interfaces such as ID5 and ID6, but menu style alone is not a fitment check. If you cannot find the version page, your car has no factory navigation, or you have an older CIC or another BMW system, simply send the main-menu and dashboard photos.

Mercedes-Benz: Audio 20, COMAND and NTG versions

Mercedes systems include different NTG generations, such as NTG 4, 4.5/4.7 and 5.x. Audio 20 and COMAND equipment can also differ within the same model. The exact kit depends on your factory setup.

Send a photo of the original Mercedes main menu with the screen on, the radio/CD control panel and any centre-console dial or touchpad. Keypads, media slots, menu design and controller layout all provide useful clues. If a normal settings menu offers system or software information, include a photo of that page too; it may not explicitly display an NTG number.

There is no need to remove the screen, dismantle the dashboard or enter hidden engineering menus. If more detail is needed, our team will explain what to check before preparing your quote.

Audi: which MMI system do I have?

On many Audi systems, open Setup or Menu → Settings → Version information. The wording varies, so look for a normal menu labelled version information or software information. Photograph the whole page, including the full software code.

Common software prefixes can provide a useful starting point:

  • BNav_: MMI 3G Basic.
  • HNav_: MMI 3G High.
  • HN+_ or HN+R: MMI 3G Plus.
  • RMC_: RMC.
  • MHIG_: MIB1.
  • MHI2_: MIB2.

This is a guide, not a complete compatibility list. If your code differs or you cannot find it, send a photo of the original main menu, a wider dashboard photo and the controls. We will help identify the system before quoting. There is no need to enter an engineering menu or remove any trim.

MINI: what should I send?

Send a clear photo of the original main menu with the screen switched on, a wider dashboard photo and the centre-console controls, where fitted. If a normal settings menu shows system or software information, include a photo of that page too. Add your model and year, and tell us about any previous infotainment upgrades. You do not need to know the system name before contacting us—we will check which options are suitable for your car.

Frequently asked questions

Will a screen upgrade fit my BMW, Mercedes, Audi or MINI?

Compatibility depends on the model, production year and factory infotainment system. Send your vehicle details and a photograph of the current screen so we can check before you book.

Will I keep the original menus and steering wheel controls?

Suitable kits can retain factory functions, but the exact level of integration varies. We will confirm what is supported for your car, including original menus, controls, audio and cameras.

Can you fit a screen to another make of car?

Yes, we can check options for selected other makes. Contact us with your vehicle details and the upgrade you have in mind.

How much does supply and installation cost?

We quote for your vehicle and chosen equipment. The price depends on the screen, fitting requirements and any additional interfaces or camera work. Contact us for a fitted quote.

What should I send with my enquiry?

Please send your make, model, year and phone type, with a clear photo of your original OE screen switched on at its main menu, a wider dashboard photo and a photo of the centre-console controller. A navigation or software version photo helps if it is easy to find. Send the pictures on WhatsApp or email; you do not need to know the system name before contacting us.
